ZDF visits Geology
ZDF film team and Thomas Kenkmann in the middle
The German television ZDF filmed in the department of geology on Dec. 5th.
As part of a documentary on the Chicxulub asteroid impact which is known to have caused the extinction of the dinosaurs 66 million years ago, an experiment on the cosmic impact was filmed together with Fraunhofer EMI and a mathematical simulation of the event was presented.
Geology of Freiburg is one of the leading institutions in the field of asteroid impact research.
